“Whispers of the Endless Horizons” is a series of ongoing collages I’ve been creating since 2018. Each piece is festooned with hundreds of layers, echoing the realms of daydreams and ethereal worlds.
To breathe new life into iconic public domain artworks by reinterpreting their context and significance in a contemporary setting.
This project features meticulously crafted collages incorporating renowned works by Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres (Grande Odalisque, The Princesse de Broglie), Leonardo da Vinci (Mona Lisa), and Paul Gauguin (Ia Orana Maria).
Each piece is carefully cut, layered, and repositioned to transform the original masterpieces, creating a fresh narrative while preserving their historical essence.
This artwork is a thoughtfully curated selection of public domain masterpieces from The Met, the Rijksmuseum, and the British Library. Each piece is meticulously edited in Photoshop, layered, and carefully positioned within the collage to create a fresh visual narrative.
By introducing contemporary objects like the Death Star, and incorporating personal photographs of the Grand Canyon and cityscapes from New York, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia, the artwork transcends traditional boundaries.
The addition of neon colors further enhances the ethereal and surreal quality of the composition, inviting the audience into a dynamic reimagining of timeless art.
I have years of experience creating large collages like this collection, and I love how these masterpiece paintings come together in new realms. This is an ongoing project, and I aim to explore to create immersive or virtual settings so that a broader audience can appreciate my reimagined pieces.
