Fire by David

Motion Graphics

This motion graphics animation is created from the photomontage artwork poster Fire by David Wojnarowicz (1987). The aim is to enhance David’s work into a more immersive and dynamic experience.

Creative Brief

This work was recreated and reconceptualized into more forceful and dynamic motion graphics to explore the construction of the original artwork. The goal was to elevate the work into another realm to reach a new audience. Although currently presented as a 2D motion graphics piece, plans are in place to enhance it into a more immersive 3D virtual reality experience in the near future.

Approach

The objects in David’s original work were edited and animated piece by piece using After Effects, combined with found stock footage, to transform the work into an electrifying and dynamic visual experience.

Impact

There is great satisfaction in how his work has been transformed into a new medium in digital format. This concept of elevating masterpieces, along with original 2D work, is envisioned to be applied across various artworks or adapted into different formats to engage new audiences.
