Creative Brief
Objective:
To create a visually engaging and cohesive narrative zine centered around the themes of daydreaming and phantasms, using collages crafted from images sourced from provided magazines, newspapers, or found images. The zine will explore the fluid and non-linear nature of dreams, using hands, dance, and eyes as symbolic elements to narrate and connect the various scenes.
Target Audience:
Art enthusiasts, creatives, and individuals interested in surrealism, collage art, and visual storytelling.
Key Themes:
Daydreaming and Phantasms: Capturing the ethereal and whimsical nature of dreams and how they transition seamlessly without traditional links.
Hands: Representing agency, action, and the tangible connection between dreams and reality.
Dance: Symbolizing fluidity, expression, and freedom within the dreamscape.
Eyes: Indicating perception, observation, and insights, guiding the viewer through the dream narrative.
Approach
Begin by brainstorming and researching the themes of daydreaming and phantasms. Gather inspiration from surrealist art, eerie images, and literary sources to understand how these themes can be visually represented.
Identify the symbolic elements (hands, dance, eyes) and brainstorm how they can be integrated into each collage to convey the desired themes. Consider the emotions and messages each symbol should evoke.
