UrbanBuzz is a project designed to emphasize the vital role native bees play in our ecosystems and to provide approachable steps for New Yorkers and other urban residents to create native-bees-friendly environments that support and increase their populations during the challenges of the climate crisis and their decline.
This work provides media for an immersive experiential installation that highlights the critical role of bumblebees and empowers New Yorkers and other urban residents to take action in creating bumblebee-friendly environments to boost their populations.
It includes motion graphics for projectors, a gamified virtual experience that engages the audience in searching for the last bumblebee, and a website offering information on bumblebee preservation, initiatives to participate in, lastest news about bumblebees, research and studies, and a list of organizations they can join to make a change.
This project focuses on highlighting the vital role of bumblebees in our ecosystems and engaging audiences in bumblebee preservation through experiential design. Key components include an immersive installation featuring motion graphics, a gamified virtual reality experience, and an informative website.
Various Adobe applications were used to create the multimedia elements, while the website’s playful UI/UX design provides accessible information about bumblebees, their ecological importance, and practical steps for their preservation.
This project represents a sophisticated effort to visualize an immersive and interactive installation concept that highlights the importance of bumblebees to our planet.
It integrates narrative installations, interactive media, virtual experiences, native plant displays (see sketch image), and an engaging, informative website filled with essential information about bumblebees and their decline.
The exhibition serves as an ideal model, combining immersive elements to captivate audiences and demonstrate practical ways to support bumblebee populations. By blending nature and technology, it showcases innovative approaches to environmental preservation.
The project aims to raise awareness of bumblebees’ vital role in ecosystems and inspire urban residents to create bee-friendly spaces. With its vibrant and engaging design, it seeks to spread the message widely and foster sustainable change.
This gamified virtual reality experience allows the audience to engage with the scenario of having the last bumblebee left. What should we do? The experience features an expansive landscape, where participants may need hours to find the final colony and the queen.
